Zephyr was our first Alaskan Klee Kai. She came from Desarie of Kikas Klee Kai back in 2012. We had wanted a standard sized male Klee Kai and had been on the waiting list for 9 months waiting for the right dog to come along. Zephyr was a tiny female pup, quite the opposite of what we were wanting but despite being small, she was just so spunky and full of life, that her personality quickly won us over. Zephyr was always extremely smart and was very good at figuring out something that she wanted. When trying to train her as a puppy, she was completely uninterested in the treats in my hand and focused instead on the treat bag up on the counter, and how she could get to that without having to listen to me. While she has gotten somewhat better at working for me with age, she is still very hard to motivate if you don't have a good enough payout.
Zephyr absolutely loves hiking and adventuring and will happily go just about anywhere with me, except in the water. She especially loves running through tall grass and bunny hopping in snow drifts. Zephyr is a toy size Alaskan Klee Kai and is 12 inches at the withers but do not let her small size fool you as she believes she can do just about anything!
